In the beginning of 2017, three Rwandan social entrepreneurs entered into a partnership to create the Root House - a multi purpose space in Kigali established with the specific purpose of making a positive cultural and social impact in a financially viable manner.
The Root House is a universal arena, a multi purpose space building on the power of assembly of a cosmopolitan, diverse, vibrant and dynamic young generation. Root House constitute a self-sustaining clearinghouse where a community driven by curiosity, creativity, cultural exchange, expression, and free knowledge is established to support and facilitate the creation of sustainable solutions for Rwandan society.
Root House is also a window, an inside look into the depth of Rwandan people's identity, culture and expression and the way we interact with the rest of the world. A space of gathering, networking and sharing, a destination where we consume culture, support fair-trade, practice ethical and savvy business deals.
Objective of Root House
To establish a business model that serves three core objectives, namely:

Building a self-sustained conducive environment that supports and nurture the potential of communities, incubate their talents and incubate new ideas, international cultural exchange, and technology while encouraging and promote entrepreneurial mindset.

Optimize and diversify income-generating revenues streams in order to financially and creatively support the Root Foundation organization's program that transform street children’s life.

Set-up a network to act as interface between investors & funders to supporting morally and financially supports entrepreneurial artists initiatives and talented creative individuals projects.
