WHAT PEOPLE SAY

— Hilde Cannoodt, Rwanda

During my regular visits to Rwanda, RootHouse has been like a second home to me. I regularly spend my mornings there connecting with other artists. It’s the home of many musicians, painters, dancers, poets, entrepeneurs... and an important part of the Kigali arts community.

What we support

We create a space to run a not for profit guest house with internet connectivity, who frequently hosts music, creativity activities and talks about a better society. At the same time generate various revenues stream to support Root Foundation, which is a local not-for-profit organization that helps vulnerable children go to school and nurture their artistic talents.

Why The Root House is important
We are as far as we know the first and the only social enterprise in Kigali. Our way of contributing to this city, is to make sure we have a space, where everyone is welcome and where you can share ideas as well as learn from others across cultures.

Our impact on the local society and our financial support is important to the development of Kigali.
